Currently serving as the Art Department Secretary and Kelso Art Gallery Director, Claudia brings a unique blend of administrative expertise and passion for fostering community relations.
From 2018 to 2023, Claudia was a board member and Director of Volunteers for Sights & Sounds of Christmas, where she played an instrumental role in organizing and leading volunteer efforts. Serving as the youngest board member in Sights & Sounds history for several years, her perspective assisted in fostering closer relationships with existing community partners and developing new ones in bringing together holiday tradition within the San Marcos area and beyond. In addition, she served as the LPAC Clerk at Jack C. Hays High School and later served as the Middle School LPAC Representative for Seguin ISD, focusing on supporting multilingual education programs and student advocacy.
Claudia’s skills in community relations, multilingual education program evaluation and student advising have been pivotal in her career. She has successfully developed and implemented new processes and procedures for multilingual education in multiple school districts, notably producing the LPAC clerk manual and earning recognition for improving district multilingual education programs. Claudia also contributed to the student advisory committee for the Latino/a/x Studies minor at Texas State University, showcasing her commitment to advancing educational opportunities for diverse student populations.
Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology at the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, TX, Claudia is passionate about program evaluation and leadership through a sociological lens. She emphasizes the development of leadership skills, effective communication and the recognition of departmental achievements, which have guided her approach in both administrative and educational settings.
With a bilingual and detail-oriented approach to her work, Claudia strives to improve systems and processes while fostering inclusive, effective educational environments. Her dedication to excellence in education and community engagement continues to drive her professional endeavors.
